Coast Guard airlifts stranded surfer

SEATTLE - The Coast Guard airlifted a surfer who was stranded near Lincoln City, Ore., Monday.

Coast Guard Group North Bend received a call at 4:28 p.m. about two surfers who were stranded off of Spanish Head. One of the surfers was able to safely make it to shore.

An HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew was launched to assist the remaining surfer. Once on scene, the rescue helicopter crew safely hoisted and transferred the surfer back to the beach.

No injuries have been reported.
